We are not professional adventurers. We bought a car, paused our jobs, sublet the flat and drove off, in that order. 140 days and 23,000 kilometres later we were standing in Cape Town, the three of us with Susi, our cocker spaniel, who slept in the roof tent every night. Susi & The Elephants came out of that trip.
